Hello my name is Zananai Byron-Davis and from a very early age I developed a passion for travelling. I have always been passionate about the tourism industry thus I completed my BSc in International Tourism Management with honours. Coming from a beautiful Caribbean island St. Vincent and the Grenadines I decided I wanted to own my own tourism business. After getting married and migrating with my husband to Germany. I had friends, over a period of time who wanted to visit my island but I was no longer there. My parents and siblings being the loving, generous people that they are welcomed my friends into their home, took it on themselves to show them around and accommodated their entire stay on the island. My friends were so impressed with the way they were treated and the amazing time that they had that they could not stop thanking me. That gave me the idea to start my business Zanur Tours.

I wanted solo women travelers to experience my country's culture and sites as a true local person while feeling safe and secure with a local family who would accommodate and embrace them warmly. This is why we offer homestay in our packages as well as pair our clients with a local sister/buddy of a similar age to take her around and let her experience everyday life on the beautiful Caribbean island. I want to form a community that encourages young women to travel, explore and experience new cultures as they mature and become the woman they truly want to be. They would learn to do new things and form new and lasting friendships all in a secure environment without fear of danger and stereotypes.

Zanur Tours is designed specifically for solo women travelers or with a partner and who would love to experience a true Caribbean lifestyle while having a wonderful vacation surrounded by beaches and warm sunshine. We allow visitors to experience the authentic life of an everyday Vincentian. Specially designed itinaries planned by a true Vincentian woman who was born and raised on the island and enjoyed every minute of it. The packages involve local activities and events that visitors can experience, attend events and sightsee as a true Vincentian would. All activities would be delivered by an expert team of warm locals who are eagerly awaiting your arrival. Our unique offering allows you to be paired with one of our locals who would be your ‘vincy buddy’ for your entire stay on the islands. The 7 days are spent in a homestay to experience the true Vincentian lifestyle. Wake up to a typical Vincentian breakfast cooked by a local mother, spend your weekend lazing on the beautiful beaches as is typical on the island. The packages can be paired with or without one of the 3 main festivals that takes place on the islands yearly.

Responsible Travel to ensure authenticity and giving back to the locals:

It is the desire of Zanur Tours to ensure that travellers experience the most authentic local way of life while on island. Therefore, this would include constant interaction with locals and residence. Full respect of cultural traditions and of persons are expected by all visitors. Under no condition do we condone abuse and offence to the local people. Zanur tours use local people for all areas of this trip and we want to ensure not only a local experience but also to contribute to the growth of the tourism industry. In doing this we wish to have the involvement and the assistance of the local stakeholders on island, so they would directly benefit from this venture.

Some of the responsible travel features that we try to include are:

  • Using public transport where possible.
  • Staying in smaller-scale locally owned accommodation where possible.
  • Buying locally produced food and drink, and purchasing souvenirs from local artisans.
  • Spreading the economic benefits by patronising a range of local suppliers.
  • Minimising plastic waste where possible and making use of bins; absolutely no littering!!!!
  • Careful management of limited energy and water resources especially on the Grenadine islands.
  • Offering real life experiences which promote cross-cultural understanding.
  • Avoiding the exploitation of the vulnerable - including women, children, animals and endangered species.
