Carnival takes place on almost all the islands in the Caribbean. The festival is especially special to St. Vincent as it’s filled with parades and pageants, dancing and music with vivid, lively street parties. It is held over two weeks at the end of June, and the beginning of July annually, and is St Vincent’s most well-known festival. There are a variety of musical performances that range from small jam sessions to large-scale concerts. The towns are decorated for this festival that also includes plenty of food and revelry. Many of the Grenadine islands also celebrate carnival but the biggest is held in the capital town Kingstown on mainland St. Vincent.
